Lorrha GAA News for 18 June

Gym Open Night: We will be holding an Open Night of our new Gym on Monday next, 20 June from 7.00-9.00pm. All those wishing to use the facility are invited to come along where a qualified instructer will be present. We will be opening the gym for two nights a week to begin with and could increase depending on the volume of people using it. As an introductory offer, the cost is €5 per night.

Senior: The seniors recorded a fine 5-21 to 3-15 win over Knockavilla Kichams in the league in Dundrum on Saturday evening with Ronan O’Meara (2), Cian Hogan, Willie Hough and Michael Clearu getting the goals. The win puts us back in the hunt for the semi-finals ahead of our final game against Borrisokane.

Junior: The juniors suffered a disappointing one-point defeat to Knockshegowna in the first round of the championship on Friday last in Borrisokane. Lorrha led from the start right until injury time when Knockshe came with a late burst to win 1-13 to 1-12. We play Toomevara in round 2 on weekend 25-26 June.

Minor Hurling: Lorrha will take on Nenagh Éire Óg in the first round of the ‘A’ championship in late June.

U16: The Under 16’s begin their championship against Kildangan in Moatfield on Monday, 4 July.

U14: The U14’s were defeated 2-10 to 0-4 by Shannon Rovers Gaels last week. They take on Newport/Ballinahinch in Moatfield on Wednesday (tonight) at 7pm with Borrisokane (away) being their opponents next week.

Premier 12’s: The U12’s lost to Ballinahinch on Friday last. Next up this Friday at 7pm is Roscrea (3) in Roscrea.

Under 8: Training in Moatfield on Friday’s from 7-8pm.

Tipp v Clare Tickets: Those who ordered tickets for the Tipperary v Clare game must collect them at the Clubhouse on this Thursday, 16 June @ 9.00pm sharp.

Best of Luck: to Patrick Maher and the Tipperary senior hurlers in this Sunday’s Munster semi-final against Clare.

Cúl Camp: The Lorrha Vhi Cul Camp will be held between 18-22 July. Application forms have circulated in the schools. Prices are; €55 for first child; €45 for second and €35 for each subsequent child. Club contact is Louise Mannion 087-6598387 or Sean Mannion 087-9155676.

Super Camp: A Super Camp for 13-16 year olds, both boys and girls will be held in Dolla between 3-5 August. The cost of the camp is €40 but places are limited to 12 per club. Contact Louise Mannion 087-6598387.

Top-Soil: The club has some top-soil left over from the development works available for sale. Anyone interested in purchasing can contact club Treasurer William Harding or Shane Brophy.

Old Time Dancing: continues on Friday night to the music of Nando & Shandy. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am.
