Lorrha GAA News for 18 September

Under 21 All Ireland: It truly has been a great week for Tipperary and for Lorrha.Congratulations and well done to Patrick Maher, Ciaran Haugh, Ken Hogan and therest of the Tipperary Under 21 team for their superb All Ireland victory overGalway on Saturday night.

To have player and management involvementin any Tipperary success is very special and for the third weekend in a row,All Ireland medals have found their way to the club. Well done to all.

 

Senior: Theseniors O’Riain Cup Quarter Final against Nenagh Éire Óg took place on Mondaynight last and Lorrha were defeated heavily 4-19 to 0-4

 

U21: The U21‘A’ semi-final against Kilruane MacDonagh’s has been deferred to a later date.

 

Minor: Theminors were fortunate to earn a replay against Newport in the Minor ‘B’ Hurlingsemi-final played in Cloughjordan last week. A last gasp David Fogarty pointforced a 3-13 to 4-10 draw. The replay took place on Tuesday evening inPuckane with Lorrha winning 4-13 to 4-4. The final against Portroe takes place on this Sunday, 19 September in Borrisokane @ 1pm. Best of luck to the players and mentors.

 

U12: TheUnder 12’s continue to battle on a took on Shannon Rovers in their latest gamein the Plate competition last week but unfortunately were beaten.

 

Tipp Clubs Draw: Well done to Pakie O’Brien who won €200 in last weeks TipperaryClubs Draw.

 

Lotto:Our jackpot has reached arecord high of €20,000. The jackpot cannot go any higher so it will remain at€20,000 until it is won. If it rolls over, the new jackpot will be rising by€150 per week.

Thanks to everyone whois supporting our lotto, which is the clubs main source of fundraising. Withthe jackpot currently high, the number of players is growing by the week,particularly online on www.locallotto.iewhere it is easy to play every week. Tickets are €2 each or three for €5.  

 

Old Time Dancing: Old Time Dancing continues on Friday night to the music ofFootloose. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am.

 

Sympathy: LorrhaGAA Club would like sympathise with the Hogan and Kennedy families on the deathof Julia Kennedy, Ballingarry who died last week. May she rest in peace.
