Tony Hogan Fund: The club would like to offer a sincere thanks to everyone who made St Stephen’s Day such a wonderful success. Almost €12,000 has been raised for the Tony Hogan Fund through our fundraising efforts. Anyone with outstanding ticket or envelope money for the fund are asked to return it as soon as possible.
Clothes Collection: Lorrha Juvenile Clubs’ clothing and textile collection including mobile phones handbags shoes and books (not including school/college books text or copy or diaries) began last Friday and continues this Friday, 18th January from 7.00pm to 9.00pm and Saturday, 19th January from 11.00am to 3.00pm. The drop-off point is the Clubhouse. Other arrangements can be made by phoning 087-3643031.
Juvenile Training: Under 6 & U8 starting on Friday, February 1st from 7 to 8pm in the Sports Hall, Moatfield. Gumshields and helmets a must.
Under 10 & 12 training continues every Tuesday from 7 to 8pm in Moatfield.
Under 14 and U16 training starting this Sunday, 20th January at 2.00pm and then back to Fridays from 25th January at 7.00pm.
All juveniles must wear a gumshield playing Gaelic football at training or in a match from now on.
Membership: Membership for 2013 is now due with rates unchanged. All are encouraged to sign-up before the closing date of 31st March as it will count towards our Tipperary ticket allocation later in the year. All those that sign up by the deadline will be entered into a draw for 2 Stand Tickets to the All Ireland Hurling Final. Adult Player – €50; Non-Playing Adult – €30; Students & Minors – €20; Juveniles (16 & under) – €15; Family Membership (2 Adults & 2 Juveniles) – €80. Each additional child is €10 each. Membership is payable to Registrar Louise Mannion, Curraghagloss, Lorrha, Nenagh or can also be paid online on our club page on myclubfinances.com.
Gym Membership: Gym Membership for 2013 is now available. (All rates are inclusive of club membership rates above) Adult Players – €150 (€50+€100); Non-Playing member – €150 (€30+€120); Student – €100 (€20+€80); Family (2+2) – €200 (€80+€120); Non club member – €150. Individual rates are €3 per session for club members and €5 per session for non members. For example if a non member pays by the session, once they have paid for 30 sessions, they are free to use it of the rest of the year, 33 sessions for players and 26 for students. All those that buy membership will be issued with a fob to access the gym. For further information, contact Sean Mannion 087-3643031.
Referee’s Training Course: A Foundation course for new referees will take place in the Sarsfields Centre, Thurles over four nights on 13/18/20/25 February. All Courses will have a 7:30pm start sharp. Anyone interested in undertaking the course must get a signed application form from club secretary Shane Brophy.
Tipperary Clubs Draw: With the 2012-2013 draw half way through, we are asking all promoters to bring their monies up to date and forward to draw coordinator Margaret Gleeson.
Sports Hall or Function Room booking: If anyone or any sports team would like to use of our facilities, which include a sports hall, gym or training field with floodlights or function room, contact Sean Mannion on 087-3643031.
The Gathering 2013: Lorrha & Dorrha Heritage Week will take place in the parish between Wednesday, 19th and Monday, 24th June, as the Lorrha communities effort for The Gathering 2013.
First Aid and Defibrillator Training: The club are organizing a second date with bookings to be made with Shane Brophy (0876989612).
Circuit Training: continues in the Clubhouse every Monday and Wednesday evenings. For more information contact Noel Hogan 0876176472.
Sean Nós Dancing: has resumed and continues every Wednesday evening from 7-8pm for children and 8.30 to 9.30pm for adult.
Gymnastics: resumes every Tuesday and Thursday from 5-8pm and Saturdays from 11-2pm.
Social Dancing: continues on Friday night to the music of Peter Burke. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am. Admission is €8, refreshments served.
Congratulations: to Tadhg Nevin and Geraldine White on their recent engagement.
Sympathy: Lorrha GAA Club would like to sympathise with the Harding family on the death of Pat Harding who died recently. May he rest in peace.
