Lorrha GAA News for 20 February

U21 Football: Lorrha will travel to Newport in the first round of the U21 ‘A’ Football Championship on this Sunday, 21 February @ 3pm. All U21 players must have their membership paid up prior to the start.

Membership: Membership is now available and the rates are unchanged for 2010. €40 – Adult Players; €20 – Non Playing Adults; €15 – Minor/College Students and Juveniles (with match ticket entry); €10 – Juveniles (without match ticket entry). All membership is payable to club registrar Tadhg Nevin, Glenbower, Rathcabbin, Roscrea. New GAA rules mean the closing date for membership is 31 March 2010. A reminder that only fully paid-up members can enter the draw for Tipperary tickets later in the summer.

Indoor Hurling: Training for Under 8’s continues in Lorrha Hall on Friday night at 7pm sharp. Indoor hurling for Under 10’s begins at 8pm.

Tipp Draw: The club won a set of jerseys in the February County Board Draw. With just two draws left, all draw coordinators are asked to collect all outstanding money in the coming weeks.

Helmets: Since the 1st January, players at all grades are required to wear helmets in both training and matches. This compulsory change to the rules affects players at every grade and players are asked to ensure they have the correct helmets to meet new requirements. The GAA Injury Scheme will only provide cover in respect of hurling claims provided the injured claimant is wearing a Helmet which conforms to the NSAI Standard IS:355. ie Mycro, Marc or Azzurri. Cooper Helmets do not conform to this standard.

At no cost to you, 5% of your monthly bill or top-up will go directly to the club. Club members and supporters need to register at www.supportyourgaaclub.ie. Lotto: All lotto draws take place in the GAA Clubhouse on Monday night @ 10pm. The draw takes place at 10pm and all are welcome to attend. Thank you for your continued support.

Old Time Dancing: Old Time Dancing continues on Friday night to the music of Midnight Melodies. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am.
