Lorrha GAA News for 20 September

November 8, 2018

U21 All Ireland: Hard Luck to both Kevin & Patrick Maher and the Tipperary Under 21 team following their defeat to Kilkenny in Sundays All Ireland. Our lads did us proud, coming back from a desperate situation and on another day might have sneaked it. It was indeed a proud day for the club to see two players marching behind the band prior to an All Ireland.

U14: Pride of place this week goes to our Under 14’s who won the North ‘B’ Final by producing a late scoring burst to beat Ballina in Nenagh on Thursday last. Late goals from Philip Hogan and Eoin Cleary saw Lorrha come from behind to win 2-10 to 0-13. See Match Report.
The team took on Gortnahoe/Glengoole in the county semi-final on Monday evening and won 2-9 to 1-5. The County Final will take place this weekend. Check website for full details.

U16: Our Under 16’s North Final against Borris-Ileigh originally scheduled for this evening (Wednesday, 17 September) has been postponed due to the Under 14’s reaching the County Final. Check website for updates on refixed date.

Junior: The Juniors take on Toomevara in the replay of the North semi-final in Cloughjordan on this Saturday at 3pm. Best of luck to the players and mentors.

Minor: The North Minor ‘A’ football semi-final against Borris-Ileigh will take place in Ballingarry this Thursday at 8pm.

600 Draw: The Club are selling tickets for a ‘600’ Limited draw. Tickets are €100 with the top prize a Ford Focus 1.6D car or €15,000. There will also be eleven other prizes ranging from €3,000 to €100. Ticket sellers will be calling to all homes in the parish over the coming weeks promoting this exciting draw. The draw itself will take place in the GAA Clubhouse on Bank Holiday Sunday, 26 October when the club will be hosting a social evening. More details closer to the date.

Jerseys: There are a small number of jerseys in some sizes still available by contacting the club secretary.

EGM: An Extraordinary General Meeting of Lorrha GAA Club has been deferred until October. The sole item on the agenda will be the proposed developments at the Clubhouse.
