You can also play our lotto online at www.myclubfinances.com where it is easy to play every week. Tickets are €2 each or three for €5.
Auction: We held our annual Auction on Sunday and once again was a great success. Thanks to all who supported the event with all 77 lots of timber, turf, straw, silage and other items selling. A big thanks to all those that donated items as well as our dedicated group of saw men and splitters (headed up by Tadhg Nevin, Trevor Hogan and Donal Kennedy) who did a great job to get so much timber cut, split and loaded in the space of just nine days.
A raffle for the Tony Hogan Fund was also held: 1st Prize – Load of Timber: Thomas Casey (Coolbawn), Bags of Gain Dog Food were won by Charlie Corrigan and Tommy Needham; Jackets sponsored by Liffey Mills were won by Mikey Houlihan and John Milne.
The winners of the Cúl Camp jersey’s signed by the Tipperary senior and under 21 hurling teams were: Lyndsey McDermott and Michael Flynn.
Thanks to auctioneers Willie Rigney and Donie O’Meara, to Sean Mannion, William & Regina Harding, Liam Lewis and Tony Coen for their help also through the day.
Juvenile AGM: was held in the Clubhouse on Tuesday week last in front of a good attendance. The highlight of the year were the performances of our Under 8, 10 and 12’s in both hurling and football. Sean Mannion was re-elected Chairman with Tommy Cahalan as Vice-Chairman. Louise Mannion remains as secretary. Team managers were also confirmed; Under 6 & 8: Mark Houlihan; Under 10 & 12: James Dunne; Under 14 & 16: Eamonn Sherlock. Selectors will be confirmed at a later date.
AGM: took place on Tuesday last. Report next week.
County Council Meeting: The December meeting of North Tipperary County Council was held in the GAA Centre on Monday last. Each year, the sitting Mayor of the Council can hold the meeting in his own area with former club secretary Michael O’Meara choosing the GAA Centre, which was a great honour for the club.
Tony Hogan Fund: A Benefit Night for Tony Hogan will take place in the Clubhouse on St Stephen’s Night, beginning at 9.30pm with music til late. There will also be an auction on the night for various prizes such as a load of timber and flat screen television. It will end a day of events, which will include a 12-team 7’s hurling tournament from 10.30am to 3.30pm.
Tony returned home to Ballymacegan recently to continue his recovery after making great strides over the past month, which saw him leave hospital earlier than anticipated. However, a period of rehab remains with funds raised from this event going towards this.
Anyone with envelopes or tickets for the fund are asked to drop them into the various collection points around the parish this week or to a meeting in the GAA Clubhouse on Thursday, 20th December at 8.30pm.
Tickets are still available, priced at €10 and are available throughout the parish. Anyone who donates to the fund in any way is invited to the Benefit Night on St Stephen’s Night. Your support will be greatly appreciated.
Clothes Collection: fundraiser for the Juvenile Club will be held between 8th – 19th January. More details to follow.
