LORRHA & DORRHA GAA CLUB NOTES
FOR SATURDAY 23 AUGUST 2008

Club Development: Lorrha GAA Club are seeking tenders for building of an extension to the Clubhouse in Moatfield. All those interested can contact the club secretary Shane Brophy on 086-0515324 or write to Lisballyard, Rathcabbin, Roscrea for an information pack on the project. All tenders to be submitted by 31 August.

Junior: Lorrha’s final group game with Toomevara took place on Monday night. The outcome will determine whether Lorrha face Borris-Ileigh or Silvermines in the Quarter Final this weekend. Check fixtures for date, time and venue.

U/21: Kilruane MacDonaghs 4-14 Lorrha 0-11
Lorrha suffered a heavy defeat to Kilruane MacDonaghs in Ballinderry on Saturday afternoon. Missing a number of key players, Lorrha battled their hardest against the reigning county champions whose ability to get goals was crucial. Lorrha must now wait to see if they are in the semi-finals or a playoff with Borris-Ileigh.

Minor: The minors will play Newport in the quarter finals of the ‘A’ Championship. This game will be played over the coming week.

Jerseys: There are a small number of jerseys in some sizes still available by contacting the club secretary.

Tipperary: Hard Luck to Liam Sheedy and the Tipperary team following their semi-final defeat to Waterford. Best of Luck to Kevin & Patrick Maher and the Tipperary Under 21 team in their All Ireland Semi-Final against Derry in Mullingar on Saturday at 2.30pm.

Tipp Draw: Well done to Sheila Carroll, Ballea who won €400 and to Patrick Dunne who won €200 in August’s County Board Draw.

Parish Golf Outing: The Lorrha Parish Golf Outing takes place in Portumna GC on Saturday, 30 August. Tee-off times from 9am to 1pm with the timesheet with Tony Coen on 090-9747972.

Lotto: The numbers drawn on 11 August were: 12 – 22 – 28 – 29. No Winner.
The Lucky Dips were: Judy Sullivan, Leo Cleary, Phyllis Kennedy, Sean Lane and Thomas O’Meara. The Winning Promoters were: Martina Houlihan, Mark Carroll and Liam Reddish.

From Monday night last, all lotto draws will now take place in the GAA Clubhouse. The draws will take place 10pm and all are welcome to attend. We would like to thank at the public houses in the parish for their hospitality since the lotto began in the mid-nineties and thank them for continuing to promote the draws in their establishments.

Old Time Dancing: Our Old Time Dancing continues in the GAA Clubhouse on Friday night to the music of Memphis. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am.
