Lorrha GAA News for 24 April

Senior: The senior league game against Kilruane MacDonaghs was deferred to Tuesday evening with Lorrha winning 3-17 yo 0-13. Lorrha could also have a league game this Sunday away to Moycarkey/Borris. Check county fixtures for details. Our second North Championship game v Roscrea has been fixed for Cloughjordan on Saturday, 1 May @ 5pm.
Junior: The Juniors got off to a winning start in the league with a 1-10 to 1-8 win over Moneygall on Sunday. It was a good win despite playing much of the second half with 14-men. Next up is a trip to Templederry on Saturday @ 7pm.
U21 Hurling: The Lorrha v Toomevara U21 game last Saturday failed to finish with Lorrha winning by two points at the time. A formal decision on the game is awaited from the North Board as to whether Lorrha progress to the next round.
Minor: The minors got off to a winning start last Thursday with a hard-earned 1-8 to 1-6 win over Borrisokane in Moatfield. The team had a game against Shannon Rovers Gaels on Monday last and lost 2-9 to 1-7. Round three game v Ballina in Moatfield on Wednesday, 28 April @ 7pm.
U16: The U16s were knocked out of the championship after a 2-5 to 1-6 defeat to Kilruane MacDonaghs last week
U14: Lorrha are now through to the North ‘C’ Final and are awaiting their opponents.
U12: The Under 12’s suffered a late defeat to Ballinahinch in their latest game last Friday. Next game v Portroe in Moatfield on this Friday @ 6.30pm.
U8&10: Training moves to Moatfield on Wednesday evening from 6.30 to 7.30pm.
U15: Well done to Christopher Fogarty who was a sub for North Tipperary in their Interdivisional final success against Mid Tipp in Toomevara on Saturday.
Cúl Camp: This years Lorrha GAA Cúl Camp will take place on the week of 19-23 July. The camp is open to all boys and girls from age six upwards. Each participant will receive a kit which will include jersey, socks, togs and gear bag. Application forms are being distributed through the schools this week. The cost for one child is €55, two children €100 and three children €135. All enquiries to Martina Houlihan 087-9138248.
Tipp Draw. All outstanding money from 09/10 is to be paid asap. New draw is starting in early May. A meeting of club promoters will be arranged shortly.
Old Time Dancing: Old Time Dancing continues on Friday night to the music of Denis Doyle. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am.
