Lorrha GAA News for 24 July

Lotto:Our jackpot reached a recordhigh of €19,700 this week. Thanksto everyone who is supporting our lotto, which is the clubs main source offundraising. With the jackpot currently high, the number of players is growingby the week, particularly online on www.locallotto.iewhere it is easy to play every week. Tickets are €2 each or three for €5.  

 

Senior: Theseniors have been drawn against Ballybacon/Grange in the first round of theO’Riain Cup. The game is likely to take place on the August Bank Holidayweekend.  

 

Junior: Thejuniors face a crucial game against Toomevara this weekend if they are to reachthe knockout stages. The game takes place on Saturday in Borrisokane @ 2pm.Check North Bórd fixtures for throw-in time.

 

Minor hurling: The minors recorded their third win in three games with ahard-earned 2-14 to 1-14 win over Kildangan in Puckane last Thursday. They alsotook on Newport on Tuesday evening. News next week.

 

U16: TheU16’s begin their championship campaign away to Kilruane MacDonaghs inCloughjordan on Friday @ 7pm. Their next game follows quickly on Monday eveningin Moatfield against Toomevara @ 6.45pm.

 

U14: Best ofluck to the Under 14’s when the take on Shannon Rovers Gaels in the Northsemi-final in the coming week. Check Bórd na nÓg fixtures for details.

 

Inter-county: Well to Ken Hogan (manager) and Patrick Maher & Ciaran Haugh aswell as the rest of the Tipperary Under 21 hurling team on their Munstersemi-final win over Cork last week. Best of luck to them in next Wednesday’sfinal against Clare in Thurles. 

Well done to Patrick and the rest of theTipperary team in their All Ireland Qualifier this Sunday against Offaly inPortlaoise. Best of luck to him and the team when they take on John McIntyre’sGalway in the All Ireland quarter final this Sunday.

 

Cúl Camp: This years Cúl Camp got underway in Moatfield on Monday morning andcontinues until Friday.

 

Parish GolfOuting: This years Lorrha Parish Golf Outing takesplace in Portumna Golf Club on Saturday, 28 August. This years President isMichael Liffey while Captain is Eugene Kennedy. More details in the comingweeks.

 

Old Time Dancing: Old Time Dancing continues on Friday night to the music of LiamSullivan. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am.

 

Sympathy: LorrhaGAA Club would like to sympathise with the Coughlan family on the death ofTeresa (Cissy) Bourke who died last week. May she rest in peace.
