Lorrha GAA News for 26 February

Membership: Membership for 2011 isnow due. €40 – Adult Players; €20 – Non Playing Adults; €15 – Minor/CollegeStudents and Juveniles (with match ticket entry); €10 – Juveniles (withoutmatch ticket entry). Closing date for membership is 31 March and people areurged to do so by then as figures collected on this date will count towards ourallocation of Tipperary tickets later in the year.

Lotto: The numbers drawn this week were: 6 – 17 – 18 – 24.No Winner.

The Lucky Dips were:Patrick ‘Bonner’ Maher, PJ Coughlan, TP Sullivan (Birr), Ann Feeney and Jack Ryan.The Promoters prizes went to: Liam Reddish, Billy Dagg and Mulrooney’s Gala.

Ourjackpot now stands at €7,450. Thank you for your continued support.

Senior: Further to the notes that appeared in the local papers, Lorrha will not have a game against Portroe this Sunday in the Hogan Cup as Portroe have pulled out of the competition. Lorrha now progress to the semi-finals which take place on Sunday, 5 March

 

U21 Football: The U21 footballers gotthe playing year off to the perfect start by beating Borrisokane in Moatfieldon Saturday last on a 1-8 to 0-6 scoreline. Lorrha now take on Portroe nextSaturday in Moatfield at 2pm where a win will see them into the semi-final.

 

Indoor Hurling: for Under 8’s continuesin Lorrha Hall on Friday evening from 7 to 8pm. U10 & 12 training in LorrhaHall from 6 to 7pm.

 

Juvenile Training: U14 training on Friday, 18 February from 6 to 7pmin Moatfield.  

 

Cancer Fundraiser: Charity Shave or Dyein aid of the Irish Cancer Society will be held in The Friars Tavern on Fridaynext from 9pm. There will be shaving and dying of heads as well as waxing of legs andchests. If anybody wants to volunteer, contact Juliet Sullivan on 0877779639.All welcome on the night with plenty of music and fun guaranteed. 

GAA Photo Gallery: Further to the ongoing development of the new clubhouse facilities, the committee are looking at setting up of photo gallery of current and past Lorrha teams and Lorrha players who played with Tipperary over the years. We ask that anyone who would have photos in their family photo albums relating to above would wish to share with the club. The club will make a copy of your submitted photo and return original to you.

Old Time Dancing: Old Time Dancingcontinues on Friday night in our newly extended function room to the music of Nandoand Shandy. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am.
