Lorrha GAA News for 27 March

Lotto: Our jackpot reached a record equalling high of €17,150 this week. Thanks to everyone who is supporting our lotto, which is the clubs main source of fundraising. With the jackpot currently high, the number of players is growing by the week, particularly online on www.locallotto.ie where it is easy to play the lottery every week. Tickets are €2 each or three for €5.

Membership: The club will be holding a registration evening on this Saturday in the GAA Clubhouse between 7 & 9pm. Closing date for membership is fast approaching on Wednesday 31 March. New GAA rules mean all membership must be paid by that date. €40 – Adult Players; €20 – Non Playing Adults; €15 – Minor/College Students and Juveniles (with match ticket entry); €10 – Juveniles (without match ticket entry). All membership is payable to registrar Tadhg Nevin, Glenbower, Rathcabbin, Roscrea. Only fully paid-up members can enter the draw for Tipperary tickets later in the summer.

Support Your Club: The club are making a major push this month to get as many Vodafone customers within the parish signed up to the scheme. If you are a Vodafone customer, you can now support Lorrha GAA club by signing up to Vodafone Support your Club for free. At no cost to you, 5% of your monthly bill or top-up will go directly to the club. Club members and supporters need to register at www.supportyourgaaclub.ie.

U21 Football: Our U21’s drew with Newport in the North Final last Saturday. See Match Report. No date was set for the replay at the time of writing. Check North Bord fixtures or club website for details

U21 Hurling: The U21 hurlers will play Burgess in the first round of the championship in Cloughjordan on Saturday next @ 4.30pm. Should the football final replay take place, this game will be deferred. Check North Bord fixtures for confirmation.

Senior: The seniors begin their county league campaign against Portroe in Moatfield on this Sunday. Check Co. fixtures or club website for throw-in time.

Minor Football: The minors begin their campaign with a home game against Borrisokane, next Wednesday, 31 March @ 6.30pm.

U16: The U16s begin their championship against Ballina this weekend. Players to be informed of fixture details by text.

U14: Well done to the U14’s who got their championship off to a great start with a 4-7 to 1-3 win over Newport/Ballinahinch in Borrisokane on Saturday afternoon.

U12: The U12’s begin their championship against Shannon Rovers in Moatfield on Good Friday @ 6.30pm.

Indoor Hurling: continues in Rathcabbin Hall on Friday night. Training for Under 8’s at 7pm and Under 10’s @ 8pm. All are welcome.

Cúl Camp: This years Lorrha GAA Cúl Camp will take place on the week of 19-23 July. More details in the coming weeks.

Old Time Dancing: Old Time Dancing continues on Friday night to the music of Nando & Shandy. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am.
