Lorrha GAA News for 27 November

Lotto: From the winter months, the lotto draws for the winters months willtake place at 9pm sharp in the Clubhouse so we ask all promoters and lottoplayers to have their tickets deposited before 8pm. Thank you for yourcontinued support.

You can play our lottoonline at www.helpourclub.ie where itis easy to play every week. Tickets are €2 each or three for €5.

 

Poker Classic: We held a successful Poker Classic in TheFriars Tavern, Lorrha on Friday last. Thanks to all who supported the event andthose who organized it, particularly William Harding, Joe Dolan and Mike Young.The winners were: 1st – Paddy Heenan; 2nd – Mary Molloy;3rd – Graham Downes; 4th – John Guinan; 5th –Michéal Lambe. We will have the winners of the ticket draw in next weeks notes.

 

Auction: The club will be reviving the Auction &Sale of Work on Sunday, 12 December as part of a day of fundraising events.Starting at 1.30pm, the GAA and Camogie Clubs will be running a relay marathonwhere players will run in relay around the pitches to run 26 miles. Then around3.30pm, there will be the auction where timber, turf, and farm produce will beauctioned off. Anyone who wishes to donate trees for cutting or produce for theauction should contact Tadhg Nevin (0874125642). All money raised will gotowards the running of the GAA and the Camogie clubs.

 

Development: Development works in Moatfield are entering their final phase withour fine new complex set to be at the disposal of all our teams and memberscome the New Year. The fine weather has allowed almost un-impeded work, includingthe installation of a new sewage system which necessitated putting a pipeunderneath the playing pitch across the road. However, the area which was dugup will be resurfaced and ready in time for 2011.

 

AGM: TheAnnual General Meeting of Lorrha GAA Club will take place in the GAA Clubhouseon Saturday, 11 December at 8.15pm (following mass in Redwood). Nominationpapers will be issued this week. This is the chance for members and new membersto inform themselves about how the club is run and offer views on improvementsthat can be made.

 

Tipp Draw: AllTipperary Draw coordinators are asked to collect as much of their outstandingmonies as possible and return to Treasurer William Harding before accounts areclosed.

 

Coaching: Award 1 / Level 1 Coaching Course – Friday 26November + Friday 3 December from 7.30pm – 10.00pm andSaturday 27 November + Saturday 4 December from 10.00am -3.00pm. If you are interested in this course and are available on these dates pleasecontact Ken Hogan.

 

Old Time Dancing: Old Time Dancing continues on Friday night to the music of Nando& Shandy. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am.

 

Sympathy: LorrhaGAA Club would like to sympathise with the Duggan family on the death of TimmyBugler, Woodford and to the Hourigan family on the death of Phyllis Hourigan.May they rest in peace.
