Senior: A depleted senior team lost out narrowly to Holycross/Ballycahill in Moatfield on Saturday evening in the county league. An injury time point gave the visitors a 3-10 to 2-12 victory.
We return to North Championship action this Sunday when we take on Portroe in Cloughjordan @ 3.30pm where we need a win to retain any chance of progressing in the group. Best of luck to the team and mentors.
Junior: A seriously depleted junior team lost 2-19 to 0-11 to Borris-Ileigh in Borrisoleigh on Sunday morning last. Our final game against Nenagh in two weeks will determine who progresses to the semi-final.
Minor Football: Lorrha Rovers had a terrific 3-9 to 2-10 win over Kildangan in an excellent game in Ballinderry last Wednesday. Lorrha Rovers are through to the North Final but still have one group game to play against Ballina in Moatfield on Wednesday (this evening) at 7.00pm.
Inter-divisional Hurling: Congratulations to Brian Hogan who was on the North Tipperary U16 team that won the Garda Cup, defeating Mid Tipp in the final on Saturday. Niall McIntyre was on the North Tipp U15 squad that took part in the Roger Ryan Cup in Toomevara on Saturday.
Tipperary GAA Clubs Draw: The 2011-2012 County Board Draw has now concluded and all promoters are asked to being their accounts up to date in advance of the new Draw which will begin in May. Thanks to all those who supported the draw.
The new Draw will be its 25th Anniversary and there will be 25 Skoda cars as prizes throughout the 2012-2013 Draw. Tickets are €100 each or €10 per month.
Cúl Camp: This years Kelloggs Cúl Camp will be held in Moatfield between 16-20 July. More details to follow.
Gym: Our gym is open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings from 7.00 to 9.30pm and on Saturdays from 12-3pm. Gym cost is €3 per session for all club members and €5 per session for non members. For further information, contact Graham (087-9610002), Tadhg (087-4125642) or Sean (087-3643031).
There is also a special class on a Thursday night for those who wish to train at a slower pace from 7.00-8.00pm.
Gymnastics in Moatfield: Midland Artistic Gymnastics Club training every Monday and Wednesday evening from 5-6pm. All are welcome.
Sports Hall or Function Room booking: If anyone or any sports team would like to use of our facilities, which include a sports hall, gym or training field with floodlights or function room, contact Sean Mannion on 087-3643031.
Social Dancing: continues on Friday night to the music of Teddy & Cathal Barry. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am.
Sympathy: Lorrha GAA Club would like to sympathise with the Nugent family, Portland on the death of Bridget Nugent who died over the weekend. May he rest in peace.
