Lorrha GAA News for 28 July

Senior: The senior hurlers are through to the third round of the County Senior Hurling Championship following a fine 2-24 to 2-11 win over Ballingarry in Templemore on Saturday evening. Lorrha await their opponents for the next round which will be one of the round 2 winners.
Junior Hurling: The Juniors have one final group game to play against Knockshegowna in two weeks time.
Minor: Lorrha Rovers lost 4-18 to 2-7 to Nenagh Eire Óg in the first round of the Minor ‘A’ Hurling Champoinship. Roscrea are our next opponents in Moatfield next week
Under 16: The U16’s suffered a narrow 1-11 to 0-13 defeat to Shannon Rovers in Moatfield last week. Last Monday evening they travelled to Templederry, news next week. Next Monday, 30th July, Lorrha host Burgess in Moatfield @ 7.00pm.
Under 12: Lorrha will play Templederry in the semi-final of the Premier 12s hurling on Friday, 27th July in Templederry @ 7.00pm
Tipperary: Well done to Ken Hogan (manager), Cian Hogan, William Maher and the Tipperary U21 hurling team on their Munster semi-final over Limerick last week. They take on Clare in the final in Ennis on Wednesday, 8th August.
Well done also to the Tipperary senior footballers on their win over Antrim last Saturday and we wish them the very best of luck against Down next Saturday. Best of luck also to the Tipperary Intermediate team in their Munster Final against Clare on Wednesday (this evening) in Nenagh.
Cúl Camp: Lorrha Bord na nOg wish to extend a big thank you to all who helped out in making our Cúl Camp another huge success with over 80 kids taking part last week. Thanks to Len, John, Alan, Stephen, and our own Cian and JP, and Eamonn mannion for his lovely food on Friday.
Membership Draw: At a recent club meeting we held the draw for the 2 tickets to the All Ireland Senior Hurling Final to those that paid their membership by 31st March. The lucky winner is Michaela Hogan, Ballymcegan.
First Aid and Defibrillator Training: Anyone interested in taking part in this training course is to contact Shane Brophy (0876989612).
Sports Hall or Function Room booking: If anyone or any sports team would like to use of our facilities which include a sports hall, gym or training field with floodlights or function room, contact Sean Mannion on 087-3643031.
Social Dancing: continues on Friday night to the music of Dermot Lyons. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am.
Parish Golf Outing: The 2012 Lorrha Parish Golf Outing takes place in Portumna Golf Club on Saturday, 18th August. Timesheet is from 9.30pm to 12 noon and you can book your slot by contacting Tony Coen (090-9747972) or this years Captain Aidan McIntyre (090-9747016). Seamus Mannion is this years President.
Speedy Recovery: The club would like to wish Tony Hogan a speedy recovery following a serious accident in London over the weekend.
