Lorrha GAA News for 28 March

Membership: Next Tuesday, 31st March is the closing date for membership. It is vital that all players, coaches and supporters pay their membership ahead of the closing date which is fast approaching on 31st March. Membership is payable to Louise Mannion or can be done online at www.myclubfinances.com and go to the Lorrha page. €90 – Adult player; €50 – Minor/College student; €30 – Non-playing Adult (+€70 extra for gym membership for 12 months); €20 – Juvenile (16 and under); €90 – Family (2 adults and 2 children, capped at €100 for three or more children).

Senior: Lorrha progressed to the semi-finals of the Dr Fogarty Challenge Cup with a 3-18 to 2-9 win over Cappawhite in Moatfield on Sunday afternoon. Lorrha will face either Burgess, Nenagh Eire Og or Mullinahone in the semi-finals which take place next month.

Lorrha's next competitive game will be in the opening round of the County Championship when they take on Loughmore/Castleiney in Nenagh on Saturday, 4th April at 2.30pm.

Junior Hurling: Congratulations to the Junior hurlers who won the delayed 2014 North Junior 'B' League final with a comprehensive 1-21 to 0-10 win over Kildangan in Ballingarry on Saturday evening. Trevor Hogan scored the goal with impressive displays from Niall O'Meara and Eoin McIntyre.

Lorrha begin the defence of their title this Saturday, 28th April, against Kildangan in Moatfield at 5pm in the opening round of the 2015 league.

Minor Football: Lorrha begin their North 'B' Football campaign against either Burgess or Shannon Rovers Gaels on Wednesday, 8th April.

Under 6 & 8: Training continues in the Sports Hall this Friday night from 7 to 8pm.

Under 10: Training continues on Friday night from 8-9pm in the Sports Hall.

Under 12: The U12's begin their football campaign on Sunday in Moatfield when they face Ballina at 12pm

Under 14: Lorrha/Shannon Rovers lost 2-9 to 2-1 to Inane Rovers in the North Feile Peil last Saturday. The team begin their North 'A' campaign against Nenagh Eire Og in Nenagh on Wednesday, 15th April

Under 16: Lorrha/Shannon Rovers footballers began their championship campaign on Friday night when they lost to Moneygall/Clonakenny in Ballingarry. Next Monday, the combo travel to Dolla to take on Silvermines at 6.30pm

Lotto: There numbers drawn this week were: 4 – 8 – 12 – 27. No Winner.
