Lorrha GAA News for 3 December

Gaelic for Girls: arrived with a bang in North Tipperary on Saturday when Lorrha Gaelic 4 Girls committee hosted a Regional U13 Blitz of 500 girls from County’s far and wide. The above committee would like to thank parents and volunteers who helped on Friday and Saturday in preparing the venue and feeding the almost 1,000 in attendance at this very successful event.

Cups to Schools: The Tom Markham Cup (All Ireland minor football) and the O’Dwyer Cup (Co Senior Football with Thomas MacDonaghs) were guests at Lorrha, Redwood and Rathcabbin National Schools last week. Tipperary minor midfielder Stephen O’Brien and Tipperary & Thomas MacDonaghs selector Pat Murphy were in attendance as well as Football Board Chairman, Noel Morris.

Lotto: Our jackpot now stands at €13,600. Thank you for your continued support.

Auction: Our annual auction will take place at the GAA Clubhouse on Sunday, 11 December @ 2.30pm. Timber cutting is going well so there should be plentyful supply of fuel, farm stuffs etc. All help will be required next weekend to get the last of the timber cut and split.
Anyone that has a tree to donate or any items to the auction such as farm produce, animals, promise of work can contact Noel Hogan (0876176472) or Graham Houlihan (087-9610002).

Gym Opening Hours: Our gym is now open; initially on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings from 7.00 to 9.30pm. For further information including membership rates for club members and non club members, contact Graham (087-9610002), Tadhg (087-4125642) or Sean (087-3643031).

Tipperary GAA Clubs Draw: With the AGM approaching we ask all promoters to bring their accounts up to date and contact co-ordinator Margaret Gleeson.

AGM: The AGM of Lorrha GAA Club will take place on Saturday, 17 December in the Clubhouse at 8.15pm. All members are asked to attend, new members welcome.

Juvenile AGM: is on Tuesday, 20 December at 8.30pm in the Clubhouse. Anyone interested in coaching or mentoring any of the juvenile teams need to attend as they will be elected on the night.

Congratulations: to Ken Hogan on leading Coolderry to the Leinster Club Senior title, defeating Oulart-de-Ballagh in Kilkenny on Sunday.

Scrap Metal: Thanks to all who donated items so far to our Scrap Metal collection.
If anyone still has anything of any kind they want to get rid of, please contact any committee member.
We will gratefully accept donations of a wide range of metal, iron or steel items no longer in use such as old equipment, machinery or cars, containers, utensils, pots, pans, sink tops, radiators, pipes, barrels, garden furniture, garden toys, bicycles, gates, fencing wire, etc.

Sports Hall or Function Room booking: Anyone interested in using the Function Room, Sports Hall, Gym or the Clubhouse for any event can contact Sean Mannion on 087-3643031.

Old Time Dancing: continues on Friday night to the music of Dermot Lyons. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am.
