Lorrha GAA News for 30 December

November 8, 2018

AGM: The Annual General Meeting of Lorrha GAA Club took place on Tuesday 19th December last in the GAA Centre in front of a large attendance.

Secretary Michael Kennedy and Treasurer Declan O'Meara provided detailed reports of the year with the Under 21's North success and the Junior 'B' League successes the highlight. The club continues to be run prudently financially but more support is needed for all areas of fundraising from lotto, Tipp Draw and once off draws with the 2500to1 draw not as successful as it could have been. There was particular praise for the social committee and their Friday night dancing which generated increased funds.

Chairman Padraig Madden thanked everyone who played a part in running the club over the past year, be it officers, players and mentors and wished everyone the best, before stepping down as chairman, succeeded by William Harding. Declan O'Meara also stepped down as treasurer after six years with Graham Houlihan taking up this role. Phil McIntyre was elected as a vice-president following the passing of Sean 'Johnny' O'Meara during the year.
