Lorrha GAA News for 31 March

Lotto: Our jackpot reached a record high of €17,300 this week. Thanks to everyone who is supporting our lotto, which is the clubs main source of fundraising. With the jackpot currently high, the number of players is growing by the week, particularly online on www.locallotto.ie where it is easy to play the lottery every week. Tickets are €2 each or three for €5.

Membership: The Closing date for membership is this Wednesday 31 March (tonight). New GAA rules mean all membership must be paid by that date. €40 – Adult Players; €20 – Non Playing Adults; €15 – Minor/College Students and Juveniles (with match ticket entry); €10 – Juveniles (without match ticket entry). All membership is payable to registrar Tadhg Nevin, Glenbower, Rathcabbin, Roscrea. Only fully paid-up members can enter the draw for Tipperary tickets later in the summer.

Support Your Club: If you are a Vodafone customer, you can now support Lorrha GAA club by signing up to Vodafone Support your Club for free. At no cost to you, 5% of your monthly bill or top-up will go directly to the club. Club members and supporters need to register at www.supportyourgaaclub.ie

Senior: The seniors got their league campaign off to a disappointing start with a 4-point defeat at home to Portroe. See League Round-Up. It was a poor performance just two weeks out from the start of the championship. Lorrha’s next league game is away to Cappawhite and it could be on this Sunday. Check county fixtures.
Lorrha’s North senior championship opener against Burgess has been confirmed for Saturday, 10 April in Cloughjordan @ 4.30pm.

Junior: The junior hurlers begin their league campaign against Templederry in Templederry on Bank Holiday Monday @ 4pm.

U21 Hurling: The U21 hurlers lost out to Burgess in the first round of the championship on Saturday on a 2-14 to 0-14 scoreline. Lorrha take on Toomevara in the losers group on this Saturday, 3 April in Puckane @ 5.30pm.

U21 Football: The replay of the U21 ‘A’ Football Final against Newport takes place this Thursday, 1 April in Ballingarry @ 7.30pm. Note change of venue. Best of luck to the players and mentors.

Minor Football: Our minor football game against Borrisokane has been postponed due to the U21 replay.

U16: The U16’s get their football campaign underway against Ballina in Moatfield on Wednesday (tonight) @ 6.30pm.

U12: The U12’s begin their championship against Shannon Rovers in Moatfield on Good Friday @ 6.30pm.

Indoor Hurling: continues in Rathcabbin Hall on Friday night. Training for Under 8’s at 7pm and Under 10’s @ 8pm. All are welcome.

Cúl Camp: This years Lorrha GAA Cúl Camp will take place on the week of 19-23 July. More details in the coming weeks.

Easter: There will Dawn Mass on Easter Sunday in Moatfield @ 6am.

Old Time Dancing: There is No Old Time Dancing continues on Good Friday night. Resumes on Friday, 9 April to the music of Frank Nelson. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am.
