Lorrha GAA News for 4 August

Senior: Lorrha await their opponents for the next round of the County Championship which will be one of the round 2 winners.
Junior Hurling: The Juniors have one final group game to play against Knockshegowna on Sunday, 12th August in Borrisokane @ 12 noon.
Minor: Lorrha Rovers take on Roscrea in the second round of the Minor ‘A’ Championship in Moatfield on Thursday, 2nd August. Lorrha Rovers have the bye next week
Under 16: Last Monday evening week, Lorrha travelled to Templederry and suffered a heavy defeat. Last Monday they hosted Burgess and lost 1-19 to 2-10, news next week. Next Monday, 6th August, Lorrha travel to Ballina to take on the home side at 7.00pm.
Under 12: Lorrha took on Templederry in the semi-final of the Premier 12s Hurling on Monday last and won 4-11 to 2-4. They now play Moneygall in the final in Ballinderry on Saturday, 11th August.
Tipperary: Well done to the Tipperary Intermediate hurlers on their munster Final victory last week. Hard luck to the Tipperary senior footballers following their defeat to Down last Saturday.
Best of luck also to the Tipperary minor football team in their All Ireland quarter final against Mayo in Croke Park on Saturday.
Match Tickets: The Munster Under 21 Hurling Final between Tipperary and Clare in Ennis next Wednesday, 8th August in All-Ticket. The deadline for orders (for club members only) is this Friday, 3rd August to Shane Brophy (0876989612). Depending on demand, there may have to be a draw. Adult – €15; Student/OAP – €10; Juvenile – €2. Student/OAP – Concession on the night on full price tickets only – pay full price and get a refund of €5 at specified Stiles on the day (on production of valid I.D.).
Ticket orders are also being taken for the All Ireland semi-finals on 19th August involving both Tipperary senior and minor hurling teams. Tickets are: Stand – €40; Terrace – €25; Club Pass Stand (Davin End) – €10; Family Tickets – €40 for adult + €5 for juveniles.
First Aid and Defibrillator Training: Anyone interested in taking part in this training course is to contact Shane Brophy (0876989612).
Gym: Our gym is open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings from 7.00 to 9.30pm. Gym cost is €3 per session for all club members and €5 per session for non members. For further information, Sean (087-3643031).
There is also a special class on a Thursday night for those who wish to train at a slower pace from 7.00-8.00pm.
Sports Hall or Function Room booking: If anyone or any sports team would like to use of our facilities which include a sports hall, gym or training field with floodlights or function room, contact Sean Mannion on 087-3643031.
Social Dancing: continues on Friday night to the music of Peter Burke. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am.
Parish Golf Outing: The 2012 Lorrha Parish Golf Outing takes place in Portumna Golf Club on Saturday, 18th August. Timesheet is from 9.30pm to 12 noon and you can book your slot by contacting Tony Coen (090-9747972) or this years Captain Aidan McIntyre (090-9747016). Seamus Mannion is this years President.
