Lorrha GAA News for 4 June

Tipperary Clubs Draw: The 2011-2012 draw start will start on this Friday, 3 June. The Draw is €100 for the year or €10 per month with 12×20 monthly prizes ranging from €200 up to €30,000 or a car. 250 from every ticket stays with the club while the remainder goes to Coaching & Games Development projects in the county. Your support is greatly appreciated. Anyone still wishing to join can contact Draw Co-ordinator Margaret Gleeson.

Lotto: Our jackpot now stands at €9,550. Thank you for your continued support.

Senior: A depleted senior team lost out narrowly 1-12 to 2-8 to Ballingarry in the league on Saturday last. We return to championship action this Sunday when we take on Moneygall in Nenagh @ 2.00pm. While we can’t qualify for the next round, a good performance would be encouraging ahead of the county championship next month.

Junior: Knockshegowna are our opponents in round 1 of the championship on weekend of 10-12 June.

Minor Hurling: Lorrha will take on Nenagh Éire Óg in the first round of the ‘A’ championship in late June.

U14: The U14’s were defeated 0-6 to 1-2 by Portroe on Wednesday last. The team have a bye this week before resuming against Shannon Rovers Gaels in Ballinderry on Wednesday next, 8 June @ 7.00pm.

Premier 12’s: The Premier 12’s hurling begins on this Friday, 3 June in Moatfield against Burgess at 7pm.

Under 8: Training in Moatfield on Friday’s from 7-8pm.

Well done: to Patrick Maher on his outstanding display for the Tipp seniors on their win over Cork on Sunday last.

Hard Luck: to Kevin Maher who lined out at corner back for the Tipperary intermediate team in their loss to Cork in Thurles on Sunday.

Best of Luck: to Ken Hogan, Ciaran Haugh, William Maher and the Tipperary Under 21’s in this evenings (Wednesday) Munster Under 21 Championship quarter final against Waterford.
Good luck also to Tony Hogan who is on the London senior hurling panel that take on Louth in the Nicky Rackard Cup Final at Croke Park on Saturday afternoon.

Cúl Camp: The Lorrha Vhi Cul Camp will be held between 18-22 July. Application forms have circulated in the schools. Prices are; €55 for first child; €45 for second and €35 for each subsequent child. Club contact is Louise Mannion 087-6598387 or Sean Mannion 087-9155676.

Super Camp: A Super Camp for 13-16 year olds, both boys and girls will be held in Burgess GAA club, Kilcolman between 3-5 August. The cost of the camp is €40 but places are limited to 12 per club. Contact Louise Mannion 087-6598387.

Top-Soil: The club has some top-soil left over from the development works available for sale. Anyone interested in purchasing can contact club Treasurer William Harding or Shane Brophy.

Old Time Dancing: continues on Friday night to the music of Sam Doherty. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am.

Sympathy: Lorrha GAA Club would like to sympathise with the families of Agnes O’Hara, Bernard White and John Styles on their recent bereavements. May they rest in peace.
