Lorrha GAA News for 5 August

Senior: Lorrha's final round game of the County Championship against Knockavilla Kickhams has been fixed for Sunday 13th August in Nenagh at 1.30pm where a win or a draw will see us into the next round.

Junior: The Juniors received a walkover from Ballinahinch in round two of the championship last weekend. Lorrha's next game is at home to Roscrea, likely on weekend 19-20 August.

Minor: Lorrha Rovers were away to Kilruane MacDonaghs in Cloughjordan in round 4 of the championship last Wednesday but suffered a 2-13 to 0-14 defeat with the home side finishing strongly to win. The team have two games remaining against Toomevara (home) and Silvermines (away), needing to win both to stay in contention for the semi-finals. They play Toomevara in Ballinderry this evening (Wednesday) at 7.00pm

Under 16: Lorrha Rovers played Toomevara, in the second round of the championship last Monday week and were defeated 3-17 to 2-8. Last Monday, they played Roscrea in Moatfield but were defeated 3-20 to 1-7. Their final group game is away to Borrisokane on Monday 14 August.

Under 14: Lorrha Rovers Gaels play Portroe in the North 'B' Hurling quarter final in Lorrha this evening (Wednesday) at 7.00pm. Best of luck to the players and mentors.

Under 12: Lorrha will play Borrisokane in the North 'B' hurling final on Saturday 5th August, in Puckane at 3.00pm Best of luck to the players and mentors.

Tipperary: Best of luck to Patrick Maher, Brian Hogan, John Madden and the Tipperary Senior hurlers in the All Ireland semi-final against Galway on Sunday. There has been a huge demand for tickets for the game through the club and will be a huge support there to roar Tipp on.

Fundraiser: The club has launched a 2500-to-1 fundraising draw with a prize fund of €10,000. We have 2,500 tickets valued from 1 cent to 2500 cents (€25) and when you accept to take a ticket, you scratch off a hidden section and the value in this section is what you pay for the ticket, it could be 1 cent, €25, or any value in between. All tickets bought will be entered into a draw in late September for a top prize of €5,000 with eleven ther prizes ranging from €2,000 to €200. Your support would be appreciated.

Cul Camp: Lorrha Kellogg's Cul Camp took place last week with 92 children taking part, one of our largest camps in recent years. Thanks to everyone who made the week such a success.
