Senior: The draw for the semi-finals of the Seamus O’Riain Cup took place on Monday night and Lorrha have been drawn against Carrick Davins. We are also awaiting a date for our Challenge Cup final v Roscrea.
Junior Hurling: The Junior hurlers suffered an agonising defeat to Burgess in the first round of the championship in Puckane on Saturday evening. Burgess scored 1-1 in the last minute to earn a 3-12 to 2-11 win after Lorrha looked to have snatched a draw. Lorrha play Knockshegowna in round 2 this Sunday evening in Borrisokane at 7pm.
Minor: The Minor’s got their championship off to a winning start with a 2-14 to 2-8 win over Moneygall/Clonakenny in Moatfield last Thursday. Trailing by five points at the break, Lorrha produced a superb second half with late goals from Dylan Bouchier and Cormac Houlihan sealing the win. Lorrha’s next game is away to Shannon Rovers, likely on Thursday, 18th July.
Under 16: The U16 ‘B’ Hurling Championship will get underway on Monday next, 8th July when Lorrha travel to Portroe.
Under 12: The Under 12’s lost to a strong Nenagh Eire Og side, 3-11 to 0-4 in their latest game last Thursday. Lorrha’s next game is at home to Roscrea, this Friday at 6.45pm.
Tipperary: Best of luck to Patrick Maher and the Tipperary senior hurlers in their All Ireland Qualifier against Kilkenny at Nowlan Park this Saturday. Also the best of luck to the minor footballers in their Munster final v Kerry on Sunday.
Hard luck to Brian Hogan who was goalkeeper for the Tipperary Minor hurlers in their Munster semi-final against Limerick in Semple Stadium last Wednesday. Also hard luck to the Tipp senior footballers against Galway last Saturday.
Cúl Camp: This years Kellogg’s Cúl Camp for 6-13 year olds takes place in Moatfield from 15-19 July. The cost remains the same as last year: first child – €55, second child – €45 and third child – €40. Places in the camp can be booked on line at www.gaa.ie/culcamps. Promotional packs of Kellogg’s Cornflakes and Rice Crispies feature a unique code, which can be used by parents online to receive a €5 discount.
Gym Membership: (All rates are inclusive of club membership rates above) Adult Players – €150 (€50+€100); Non-Playing member – €150 (€30+€120); Student – €100 (€20+€80); Family (2+2) – €200 (€80+€120); Non club member – €150. Individual rates are €3 per session for club members and €5 per session for non members. All 2012 members who have not renewed their membership have now had their phobs turned off.
