Lorrha GAA News for 6 June

November 8, 2018

Golf Classic: The date of our Golf Classic in Birr Golf Club has been deferred by two weeks to Friday, 10 July. What better way to start Munster Final weekend than with a round of golf. Teams of 4 are €220 while hole sponsorships are €100 each. Timesheets are with Michael Liffey 087-2578370 or Tony Coen 087-6219639.

Senior: Lorrha’s fourth North Senior Championship game takes place this Sunday, 7 June against Portroe. Throw-in is at 1.30pm. We need a win to retain our interest in the championship.

Junior: Our Juniors suffered a heavy defeat in the first round of the championship against Burgess in Puckane last Saturday. The squad is quite depleted from last year but everyone gave it their all. Next game is against Borris-Ileigh on weekend 13-14 June.

VHI Cul Camps: The Lorrha GAA VHI Cul Camp takes place this year between 20-24 July.

Feile: Lorrha are hosting the Mount Leinster Rangers club from Carlow as part of the All Ireland Feile hurling competition. Lorrha will be taking part and Moatfield will be hosting games on Friday, 19 June.

Tipp v Cork: Well done to Patrick Maher and the Tipperary Senior Hurling team against Cork this Sunday. Also best wishes to Patrick & Kevin Maher plus selector Ken Hogan and the Tipperary Under 21 team in their Munster Championship opener against Cork in Thurles this evening.

Well done: Congrats to Jamie Lewis who played at midfield for North Tipperary in their Peader Cummins success last weekend.

Exams: Best of luck to all our younger members sitting state exams this week.

Tipp Draw: This is a massive source of revenue with 50% of each subscription coming back to the club. We look forward to your continued support. Any new people wishing to join should contact club coordinator Margaret Gleeson or any of the promoters. The first Draw has been deferred to Friday week June 12th with an Audi A6 or €50,000 as first prize. Tickets are €100 for the year with multiple payment options

Courses: Last year, the club purchased a defibrillator for use in emergency situations and anyone interested in taking part in a course on how to use it can contact William Harding on 086-8062341. Anyone interested in taking a physio/masseurs course can also call William Harding for further details.
