Lorrha GAA News for 7 June

Golf Classic: Lorrha GAA Club is holding a fundraising Golf Classic in Birr Golf Club on Friday, 20 June. The timesheet is beginning to fill up and you can book your tee-off time by contacting Mick Liffey (087-2578370) and Tony Coen (087-6219639). A team of four costs €240 which includes a post-game meal. Hole sponsorship is €100. A great day is guaranteed with entertainment later in the evening when the prize winners are announced.

Membership: The deadline for membership has now passed and the club would like to that all those who joined the club as members in huge numbers and your support is vital in the running of our club.

County: Sunday will be a proud day for the club when Noel Hogan leads out the Tipperary Intermediate team against Cork in the Munster Championship in Pairc Ui Chaoimh. Patrick Maher is also in the starting team while Ronan O’Meara is among the subs. All Lorrha members who are heading to Cork are asked to get in early to support the lads.

Tickets: Tickets for this Sundays Tipperary v Cork match will be distributed to club members on Wednesday evening in the Clubhouse at 9pm. Such is the demand that there will be a draw for tickets so you are asked to pay for the tickets on the night.

Senior: Lorrha 3-8 Holycross 1-11
Lorrha lifted silverware in our first year back in the senior ranks when we defeated Holycross in the division two hurling league final on Friday last. See Match Report.
Congratulations to the lads who have brought their form up to senior level and are showing that Lorrha belong back at the top level.
Our next match in the senior championship is on Sunday, 15 June when we take on Toomevara in Cloughjordan. Throw-in is at 7.30pm.

Junior: Lorrha’s first game in the Junior ‘A’ Championship takes place on Friday, 13 June when we take on Nenagh Eire Og.

Under 14: Lorrha drew with Inane Rovers in the semi-final of the ‘A’ football championship on Wednesday evening last. The replay took place on Tuesday evening last. Report next week.

Under 12: The Under 12’s began their hurling championship campaign with a 3-5 to 1-4 win over Ballinahinch in Dolla last Thursday. They are now likely to play Moneygal in the next round this weekend.

Under 8’s & 10’s: Training for both age groups continues on Saturday mornings at 11am.

Exams: Best of luck to all our members who are sitting state exams this week.

Lotto: Congratulations to Shane O’Meara who won the Lorrha GAA lotto last week and a jackpot of €5,100. Also well done to Mark Carroll who sold the winning ticket and wins €300. The numbers were 8 – 10 – 11 – 30.
For a trial period, all those who play three panels for €5 will be entered into a separate lucky dip draw for €50, provided the draw is not won.
