Lorrha GAA News for 7 October

Junior: Well done to our Junior 'B' hurlers who defeated Ballina 1-20 to 1-15 in the North semi-final in Puckane on Saturday with William Maher top scoring with 1-7 from play. Lorrha will play Newport in the final, likely on weekend 14-15 October.

Under 21: Our Under 21 game against Silvermines has been refixed for this Sunday 8th October in Puckane at 11.30am

Under 13: Lorrha play Moneygall/Clonakenny in the North 'B' Plate semi-final this Saturday in Lorrha at 3.00pm

Under 11: Congratulations to the Under 11 hurlers who won the North 'B' Plate final last Friday, defeating Newport 2-9 to 0-3 in Nenagh. A great way to end the season. The winning panel were: Cian Claffey, Sarah Gorman, Emma Deegan, Grace Reid, Paul Cahalan, Con O'Meara, Nicholas Perry, Liam Donoghue, Keadagh Broderick, Niall Duggan, Robert Duffy, Jake Houlihan, Lee Hogan, Jason Houlihan, Conor Kennedy

Under 6 & 8: The U6's and 8's had an enjoyable time at the Kiladangan blitz in Puckane last Saturday.

Fundraiser: The clubs 2500-to-1 fundraising draw with a prize fund of €10,000 has been put back to Saturday 21st October to get the final tickets sold. We have 2,500 tickets valued from 1 cent to 2500 cents (€25) and when you accept to take a ticket, you scratch off a hidden section and the value in this section is what you pay for the ticket, it could be 1 cent, €25, or any value in between. All tickets bought will be entered into a draw for a top prize of €5,000 with eleven other prizes ranging from €2,000 to €200. Your support would be appreciated.

Social Dancing: continues on Friday with music of Tom Healy, from 9.30pm til late.

Sympathy: Lorrha GAA Club would like to sympathise with the Hogan family, on the death of Billy Hogan, Derry, Rathcabbin who passed away last Sunday. In his playing days, Billy helped Lorrha win the County Intermediate Hurling title in 1948 during a seventeen year adult career with the club. He also played for Tipperary in the National Hurling League, winning a league medal in 1949 and also played in 1951.
