Lorrha GAA News for 8 October

Scrap Metal Collection: The club are holding a scrap metal collection day in the near future. So far the collection of items is going well. If anyone has anything of any kind they want to get rid of, please contact any committee member. We will gratefully accept donations of a wide range of metal, iron or steel items no longer in use such as old equipment or machinery, cars, containers, utensils, pots, pans, sink tops, radiators, pipes, barrels, garden furniture, garden toys, bicycles, gates, fencing wire, etc. Anyone that has anything that needs to be collected can contact Sean on 087-3643031

Lotto: The numbers drawn this week were: 1 – 2 – 14 – 20. No Winner.
The Lucky Dips were: Phyllis Kennedy, Michael O’Brien Jnr, Michael Kennedy, Martin Hackett and Kitty Slevin. The Promoters were: Kelly’s, James Dunne and Tommy Cahalan.

Senior: The seniors will take on Borris-Ileigh in the final of the Hogan Cup on this Sunday in Cloughjordan @ 3.30pm. Best of luck to the players and mentors.

U21: Lorrha will take on Roscrea in the losers group of the U21 ‘A’ championship. This game is likely to take place on Saturday week.

Minor Football: Hard luck to the minor footballers who were defeated in the North Final replay by Ballina in Nenagh last Saturday. It wasn’t to be as missed chances early on put us under pressure against a fine Ballina team. See Match Report. Thanks to the players and mentors for their efforts throughout the year.

All Stars: Congratulations to Patrick ‘Bonner’ Maher on being nominated for a GAA Hurling All Star. The All Star awards will be announced at on Friday, 21 October.

Ladies Football Programme for Lorrha: An information meeting will take place on Thursday 14th October at 7.30 in the GAA Clubhouse to investigate the possibility of hosting a Ladies Football programme called Gaelic4Girls in the coming weeks. This programme will be open to girls between 9-13 years from Lorrha and the surrounding areas. Anybody interested in getting involved in the programme or in finding out more is asked to attend the meeting with representatives from Munster Ladies Football.

Tipperary GAA Clubs Draw: All promoters are asked to bring their accounts up to date and to forward any monies to Margaret Gleeson as soon as possible.

Sports Hall or Function Room booking: Anyone interested in using the Function Room, Sports Hall, Gym or the Clubhouse for any event can contact Sean Mannion on 087-3643031.

Old Time Dancing: continues on Friday night to the music of Nando & Shandy. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am.
