Lorrha GAA News for 8 September

Under 21: Lorrha have an outstanding North U21 'B' hurling championship first round game against Shannon Rovers which is likely to be played in the coming weeks.

Minor: Hard luck to the Lorrha Rovers Gaels minors who were edged out by Toomevara 1-15 to 1-14 in the North 'A' hurling semi-final last Thursday in Borrisokane. Lorrha Rovers led most of the way but were pipped in injury time by Toome who progress to the final against Roscrea of Kiladangan.

Lorrha were represented on the squad by Jack Moran, Daniel O'Donoghue, Colm Fogarty, Alan O'Meara, Jack Ryan, James Guinan, Daniel Madden and Ollie Cleary, while Tom Madden was part of the management team. Thanks to the players and mentors, and officers of the three clubs for their efforts this year.

Under 16: Lorrha Rovers Gaels played Toomevara in the North Under 16 'A' hurling quarter final on Monday last and won 3-23 to 2-24, after extra time. They will play either Kiladangan or Ballina in the semi-final next Monday, 10th September at 6.00pm

Under 14: Lorrha were defeated by Newport, 3-12 to 2-8, in the North 'B' hurling semi-final in Newport last Wednesday. Thanks to the players and mentors for their efforts this year.

Many of the squad will go onto play in Under 13 & Under 15 Leagues.

The Under 13 League begins this evening (Wednesday) against Moneygall/Clonakenny in Moneygall at 6.30pm while the Under 15 starts against Moneygall/Clonakenny in Moatfield next Sunday, 9th September at 10.30am.

Under 11: Lorrha are taking part in the U11 Hurling Plate and are in the 'B' grade. Last Monday week, they hosted Newport in Moatfield and won 3-4 to 1-3 and on Friday, they hosted Roscrea in Moatfield and won 5-5 to 1-3. This Friday, they are away to Moneygall at 6.30pm.

Social Dancing: in the GAA Centre on Friday to the music of Unity. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am.
