Lorrha GAA News for 9 February

Under 21 Football: Lorrha will travel to Ballina on weekend 16-17 February in the first round of the U21 ‘B’ Football Championship. Lorrha will also host Moneygall/Clonakenny a week later with the top two progressing to the semi-finals.
Minor Football: Lorrha have been drawn against Moneygall/Clonakenny (away), Borrisokane (home) and Portroe (TBC) in the Minor ‘B’ Football Championship. Games will commence in late March.
Juvenile Training: Under 6 & U8 continues on Friday from 7 to 8pm in the Sports Hall; Under 10 & 12 training continues every Tuesday from 7 to 8pm in Moatfield; Under 14 and U16 training on Friday at 7.00pm. All juveniles must wear a gumshield playing Gaelic football at training or in a match from now on.
Referee’s Training Course: A Foundation course for new referees will take place in the Sarsfields Centre, Thurles over four nights on 13/18/20/25 February. All nights will have a 7:30pm start sharp. Anyone interested in undertaking the course must get a signed application form from club secretary Shane Brophy.
Membership: for 2013 is now due with rates unchanged. All are encouraged to sign-up before the closing date of 31st March as it will count towards our Tipperary ticket allocation later in the year and will also be entered into a draw for 2 Stand Tickets to the All Ireland Hurling Final. Adult Player – €50; Non-Playing Adult – €30; Students & Minors – €20; Juveniles (16 & under) – €15; Family Membership (2 Adults & 2 Juveniles) – €80. Each additional child is €10 each. Membership is payable to Registrar Louise Mannion, Curraghagloss, Lorrha or can also be paid online on our club page on myclubfinances.com.
Gym Membership: for 2013 is now available. (All rates are inclusive of club membership rates above) Adult Players – €150 (€50+€100); Non-Playing member – €150 (€30+€120); Student – €100 (€20+€80); Family (2+2) – €200 (€80+€120); Non club member – €150. Individual rates are €3 per session for club members and €5 per session for non members. For example if a non member pays by the session, once they have paid for 30 sessions, they are free to use it for the rest of the year, 33 sessions for players and 26 for students. Season Ticket: The Tipperary season ticket package is available. For just €200, the new 2013 Premier Gold Plus Package will give access to all adult club games within the county organised by the Tipperary county and divisional CCCs. In addition, it incorporates the GAA Season Ticket which gives access to all Allianz League matches in the chosen code (including semi-finals and final) plus the opening Munster Championship fixture for Tipperary. After that Pay for Play applies for your county’s additional games in the championship in that code with a €5 discount off face value. If you have already purchased a GAA Season Ticket you can pay an additional €115 for the Tipperary GAA Club Match Pass. If you don’t want the inter-county ticket, you can still buy the club season ticket for just €120 which represents great value for regular club match attendees. Applications forms are available through the club.
Blood Bank: The Irish Blood Transfusion Service will be holding a blood donation drive in Moatfield on Tuesday, 26th February. Anyone which wishes to donate blood can go there on the day.
Tipperary Clubs Draw: We are asking all promoters to bring their monies up to date and forward to draw coordinator Margaret Gleeson.
Sports Hall or Function Room booking: If anyone or any sports team would like to use of our facilities, which include a sports hall, gym or training field with floodlights or function room, contact Sean Mannion on 087-3643031.
Circuit Training: continues in the Clubhouse every Monday and Wednesday evenings. For more information contact Noel Hogan 0876176472.
Sean Nós Dancing: continues every Wednesday evening from 7-8pm for children and 8.30 to 9.30pm for adult.
Gymnastics: continues every Tuesday and Thursday from 5-8pm and Saturdays from 11-2pm.
Social Dancing: continues on Friday night to the music of Checkers. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am. Admission is €8, refreshments served.
Sympathy: Lorrha GAA Club would like to sympathise with the Heenan family on the tragic death of Noel Heenan, who died last week. May he rest in peace.
