Lorrha GAA News for Saturday 25 August

Senior: Lorrha will play Roscrea in the third round of the County Senior Hurling Championship on Sunday, 2 September.
Junior Football: Lorrha will take part in the Junior ‘A’ Football championship which begins in the next couple of weeks.
Minor Hurling: Lorrha Rovers take on Kildangan in their third game of the Minor ‘A’ Hurling Championship in Puckane this Thursday, 23rd August at 6.30pm. The following Wednesday, 29th August, Lorrha Rovers will host Ballina.
Under 16: Lorrha lost by two points to Silvermines in their latest game last Monday week. Last Monday they took on Kilruane MacDonaghs in Cloughjordan, news next week. Next Monday, 27th August, Lorrha will play their final game against Borrisokane in Moatfield @ 6.45pm.
Under 12: Best of luck to our Under 12s who head to Littleton this Saturday afternoon for the County End Games. They will play a South Tipperary team in the quarter finals. Best of luck to the players and mentors.
Tipperary: Hard luck to Patrick Maher and the Tipperary senior hurling team in All Ireland semi-final against Kilkenny. Also hard luck to Caoimhe Kennedy (captain) and Megan O’Meara who are on the Tipperary Intermediate camogie team who lost to Derry in the All Ireland semi-final in Clonsilla, Dublin on Sunday.
Well done to the Tipperary minor hurlers on reaching the All Ireland final following their semi-final win over Galway last Sunday.
First Aid and Defibrillator Training: The club will be organizing a course following healthy expressions of interest. We are currently looking at dates in September and October to hold the course.
Gym: Our gym is open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings from 7.00 to 9.30pm. Gym cost is €3 per session for all club members and €5 per session for non members. For further information, Sean (087-3643031).
There is also a special class on a Thursday night for those who wish to train at a slower pace from 7.00-8.00pm.
Sports Hall or Function Room booking: If anyone or any sports team would like to use of our facilities which include a sports hall, gym or training field with floodlights or function room, contact Sean Mannion on 087-3643031.
Dancing Classes: Sean-Nós Steps, Steps for Sets & Two Hand Dancing Classes will begin in the GAA Complex on Wednesday, 12th September for both adults and children. For more information contact Donie Morrissey on 087-9347968.
Social Dancing: continues on Friday night to the music of Pat & Ritchie. Dancing 9.30pm to 12.30am.
