Membership is now due for 2014.  We encourage all members to renew as soon as possible by following the link on our website.  We particularly extend an invite to Parents and Guardians of our Juvenile members to consider one of our family options.  All players up to U21 are now included in the family options.

The new Senior Hurling Management Team was ratified on Sunday evening. Vincent Shanagher, former senior hurler with the club will take over the management duties. Vincent played in goal for Lucan until retirement through injury in 2007. Fintan Clandillon, who did a lot of work with the team at the business end of the 2013 championship, will take over the coaching duties. Padraig O'Driscoll, who played with the team up to 2011 until retirement through injury has been appointed selector. Paul Stapleton will support on admin and Ronnie Smith will resume duty as kit man. We wish the full Team every success in 2014.

This weekend saw the return to competitive action for many of our Teams.

It was an exciting morning for our U8 footballers as they took to the field for the first time in Lucan Sarsfields colours against St Judes on the all weather pitch and away to Thomas Davis.  Many Sars Stars of the future were on show and we wish them all the very best in their playing careers for Lucan.

Our U9 footballers were in action against Templeogue and Kilmacud Crokes with a huge turn out of players at all games.

The U10 footballers had a good win against Ballinteer St John’s on Saturday morning on their new all weather pitch.

U11 football games fell foul to the weather, but our U12s had a good win over Ballyboden at the 12th Lock.  Our U13 footballers also had a win against St Maurs.  Hard luck to our U15 footballers who lost out to Ballyboden by 2 points in their first league game of the year in Div 1.  Our U14 footballers also lost out to Parnells in a close encounter.

Our U13 hurlers played against Faughs in a pre season friendly on the all weather on Sunday afternoon and came away with a victory.

Hard luck to our U21 hurlers who fought hard against Ballinteer in the championship quarterfinal.  Lucan trailed at half time by 3 points playing against the wind.  Then went 1 up with 15 minutes to go following a well worked goal, but a strong finish from St John’s secured them a semi final place on a score line of 19 points to 1-12.

Set Dancing classes every Wednesday @ 8.30pm

Our nurseries continue every Saturday from 1.30pm at the Clubhouse.  New players are always welcome and registration is just €10 for both Hurling and Football.  This is your chance to participate in a training session led by Dublin Hurling Captain Johnny McCaffrey.  Each week over 150 boys and girls practice their skills and improve their overall physical well being in a safe and controlled environment on our purpose built all weather facility.  Check out our website for more details.

There was no winner of Sunday night’s €5,000  Lotto. The unlucky numbers were 6, 18, 21, 27. This weeks lotto is for a jackpot of  €5,500 sponsored by Henley Forklift Group with Hugh McGonigle’s Team in charge.
