Many thanks to all the Teams who sent in match reports this weekend.  Full details can be found on our website www.lucansarsfields.ie over 650 players in action last weekend across all 4 codes from age 7 to 40+!

Congratulations to all four adult football teams who recorded victories last weekend.  Our Seniors had an impressive win over St.Peregrins and our Intermediate Team overcame a strong Clan Mhuire side by 2 points.  In the afternoon both Juniors sides came out on top against Garda and Thomas Davis.

Our underage football Teams also had some good results at the weekend.  The U13A got back on track with a win over local rivals Round Towers.  The U14As had an impressive win over St Brigids 5-10 to 4-5 and our U16As also recorded a victory over Erins Isle.  Our U15Bs had an great win on Sunday morning over Kilmacud Crokes 1-12 to 2-2.

It was a proud day for the Club last Friday as we had no less than 7 representatives on the Dublin Colleges Hurling Team who defeated Birr. Congratulations to Robert Ward, Daire Newcombe, Emmet Allen, Andrew Carroll, Ben Coffey, Luke Walsh and Cian McHugh.  Keep up the good work lads!

It was a feast of Hurling last weekend for out U11 Teams as they played off some highly competitive games against Faughs on Saturday morning.  The Team assembled again on Sunday at 7am in the clubhouse for a trip to Waterford to support Johnny and Peter who were in action for the Dubs against the Deise.  The big match was preceded by games against Tramore and Danesford.  Many thanks to Cillian Canavan, Michael Sheery, Keith Hannon, Declan O'Leary, Dara Keher, Ger Cooper and Mick Cuffe for organizing this trip for 70 very lucky Hurlers!

U10 hurlers (3 team group) played away to Kilmacud on Saturday.  In all games there was some great skill and commitment shown narrowly losing the three games.  Our 2 team group played Commercials at home winning one and losing one.  Some great point scoring from midfield and fine teamwork resulted in a good win for the Sars.

On Saturday morning at the 12th lock our U8 squads were in action,

Both squads performed really well against Thomas Davis and Balinteer St.

Johns. There were loads of great skillls on display from all teams and all

the games were played in great spirit.

Every Lucan player played really well and gave 100% but a special mention

must be made for our 3 all stars this week Conor Dolan (who broke his hurl

in the process of giving 110%), Aaron Cronin and Robert Keher. Well done

lads!

On the camogie side  the U13B’s made it 2 wins out of 2 with victory over Raheny B 3-06 to 1-0, on a glorious Spring morning in St Annes Park. Lucan raced into a 3 point lead in the first half with some clinical strikes from Ali Dunne, Aoife Whelan and a free from Emma Morris.

Raheny responded with a well taken goal of their own just before half-time, however a fine point from Fay Murphy ensured Lucan led at half time by a single point.

After the break Lucan upped the tempo and 3 goals and 2 points were added by Fay Murphy, Ali Dunne, Emma Morris and Roslyn Croke, to secure the win.

Excellent displays by every player, a real team performance.

A special mention to all the parents who came out to support and encourage the team.

The U8's made they're debut against Commercials & St. Brigids on a balmy sunny Sunday afternoon, a fantastic display by all our girls who took great pride in putting on the club colours. Some strong teamwork produced performances which managed to keep all opposing teams scoreless, which is a great feat at any age level.

The U10s were away to Kilmacud  on a great day for playing Camogie. It was our first match of the season and we could see that there were still some cobwebs to be brushed away. Lucan started off slowly with a loss and two draws, Kilmacud really made us ask questions of our approach and our formation.

Gary's team battled hard, the grass was against us for our games as many chances were created but the ball just would not finish for us.  3 draws was good for the day that was in it.
