LUCAN SARSFIELDS’ CLUB NOTES MONDAY MAY 14th 2012
Thank you to all who contributed in any way to making our Race Night such a successful social and entertaining fundraiser. A special word of thanks to everyone who helped behind the scenes prior to the event. Great thanks is also due to those who ran the night so professionally. We are very grateful to all our advertisers and sponsors who rallied to the cause even in these difficult times. We would ask all our club members to support these sponsors in whatever way they can in appreciation of their loyalty and steadfastness to Lucan Sarsfields. Thanks to all mentors for their co-operation and support. Our senior hurlers had a great 0-16 to 2-06 win against Ballyboden in championship last Wednesday night. Junior A Hurlers had a good win in the second round of the Jun B championship , winning 3-9 to 0-8 against Scoil Ui Chonaill. Welcome back to Fintan Clandillon and to Niall Gleeson after injury. Speedy recovery to Joe McCarthy, Luke Philpott and Stevie Farrell. Our next championshop game is away to Clontarf on Tuesday 22nd May.Best of luck to our senior footballers who play championship against Ballinteer this Wednesday 16th at 7:15 in the Iveagh Grounds.We would ask all our members to vote for Emmet O’Conghaile in the 2012 Cadbury Hero of the Future award by logging on to https://apps.facebook.com/cadburygaahero/?player=Emmet-OConghaile. Closing date for votes is Thursday. Final of Sars Stars Talent Contest on Saturday, 19th May from 9.30pm in Clubhouse. Heat 1 Winners – Lorna Murtagh representing Mama Mias (Gaelic 4 Mothers),Dennis Malone representing Social Initiative, Heat 1 Wild Card – Craig Carabini representing Junior B Football, Heat 2 Winners – Gillian Byrne representing U16A Camogie ,Gerry Reynolds & Sean Walsh representing U15 Football & Hurling ,Heat 2 wild card – John O’Keeffe representing Junior B Hurling ,Also music on the night with Get Ready Go.Our next golf outing will be at Castlewarden on Thursday May 17th. Our nurseries for boys and girls born in 2005,2006 and 2007 continue every Saturday at 1.30pm on our all weather pitch at The 12th Lock. Camogie nursery at 2:30pm for girls aged 6 and over. This is your child’s chance to be coached by Dublin Senior Hurling Captain Johnny McCaffrey. Opening times for our club shop are Tuesday and Thursday 7.30-8.30 and Saturday 10:30 to 11:30. This weeks lotto numbers are 2-20-21-28.
