The Minors played well but missed a lot of scores early on which allowed Myshall to seize the initiative and build up a big lead by half-time (4-7 to 0-4). The lads competed well in the second half and the margin flattered Myshall in the end.
Players deserving special mention were Melvyn Kinch for his bravery in goal, Rory McKiernan and Keane Doyle for their hard tackling in the full back line, Josh Bowes for his non-stop running at midfield which saw him rewarded with 3 fine points from play, Dan Quigley, Jake Hickey and Tom Pollard in the forwards who were always looking for the ball and taking the game to their bigger opponents.
Well done to all concerned, especially the players, for ensuring we fielded a Minor team in 2016. While the results in the League have been up and down, this very young team has shown enough promise to suggest that they should be competing strongly for honours later in the year.
