Minor Championship: MLR 2-11 Clonmore 3-8

November 8, 2018

In the Minor Championship in Borris on Sunday evening, Clonmore were unlucky not to come away with full points against a strong and determined MLR team. In a free flowing game, Rangers took an early lead but a Francie Whelan goal from a Keith Bowes cross put Clonmore 1-4 to 0-5 ahead at half-time.

Second half points from Francie, Rory McKernan and Dylan Doyle, and a couple of well-taken goals from Josh Bowes and Billy Lawlor, looked to have put Clonmore into a winning position on 58 minutes (3-8 to 1-10). But Rangers never gave up and scored an equalising point in the 7th minute of injury time, with Melvyn doing well to guide a dangerous high ball over the crossbar.
