Minor footballers find their top form to demolish local rivals Ballinteer St Johns 7-8 t 0-4. Sunday morning saw the minor footballers continue to build on early season form when at near full strenght they gave a magnificent display to record a emphatic victory over Ballinteer. But it wasn’t as one sided as the score suggested. Olafs started with a goal blitz that had ballinteer realing. The best of them the result of a great run from midfield by Conor Haskins who swapped quick passes with two players before bursting through the ballinteer full back line to crash home the ball from close range. Whilst the forward line cut the Ballinteer defence apart Olafs were also superb in defense. Micheal O’Connor pulled off two top class saves incliding one full stretch dive to his left to push a certain goal away. Olafs were up 5-3 to no score at half time. Ballinteer finally got on the scoreboard as Olafs made 4 changes including taking off the very impressive forward duo of Brian O’Connor and Blaine Begley. Much as Ballinteer tried they couldn’t get going up front with Dara O’Sullivan commanding at the back for Olafs. Eoin Norton finished the scoring in the final minutes with a well taken goal and it finished 7-8 to 0-4 in favour of Olafs.
