MINOR FOOTBALLERS

November 7, 2018

Our minor footballers played their second game of the championship last Wednesday in Ballingarry where Mullinahone were the opponents. After losing to Carrick Swan in the first game a win was vital here. We started off poorly and Mullinahone went into an early lead. With a few minutes to go in the first half we were 8 points down and were in deep trouble but a goal from Andrew Phelan and a point from Niall Keane gave us a lifeline and we ended up being only 4 points down at half time. The second half went along similar lines to the first half with Mullinahone pulling away but credit to our lads they never gave up. Further goals from Eoin O Donovan and 2 from Niall Keane actually put us a point up heading into injury time. Unfortunately we couldn't hold out for the win and had to settle for a draw on a scoreline of 4-5 to 2-11. The team on the night was: Nathan Costin, Brian Anglim, Conor Duggan, Eoin Ryan, Michael Boland, Joey Noonan, Barry O’Dwyer, Ross McCormack, Andrew Phelan, Jamie Broderick, Niall Keane, Jesse McCormack, Jack Ward, Eoin O Donovan, Liam Quigley, Frank Meagher, Harry Butler, Niall Mockler
