Intermediate Hurling

Our Intermediate panel travelled to Parteen of Clare, just outside Limerick on Thursday last to play the Parteen intermediate side. We were not at full strength travelling down however we did have some regulars involved. The game was played in good conditions on the night however it took our lads a while to settle into the game. The Parteen side had some sharp forwards along with strong backs well able to hurl. Treacys scored one goal on the night in the first half courtesy of Ollie Carr after some skillful play by Paul Shanahan. Parteen managed two goals after some clever play by their full forward line on both occasions. The game finished close but it was Parteen who grinded it out for a finish on a scoreline of 2-16 to 1-15.

There were some good passages of play from the Treacys throughout but the ante will have to be upped from here on out now that the season is progressing. The team and scorers which lined out on the night: Kevin Ryan Greg Kennedy Paudie Carey(0-1) Tom Keane Simon Kennedy Sean Kennedy(0-2f) Liam Nolan Joey Ryan Paudie Ryan(C)(0-1) Jamie O Toole(0-3) Paul Shanahan Denis Stapleton(0-1) Declan Hickey(0-2) Ollie Carr(1-0) Joey Ryan(R)(0-5,4f).Subs: Tom Hickey, Ger O Toole, Seamus Butler

Second Hurling Team

Our second team played out a good game at the cross on Tuesday of last week playing Ballinahinch in a challenge. Ballinahinch edged it with only a few points to spare for the Treacys. Most importantly, it was a good game of hurling and it was great to see Ger Gilmartin Michael Carey Dave Carroll Mark Hogan Willy Horrigan and Damien Nolan back involved. Thanks to Martin Ryan of Rearcross who is now involved in the back room. We welcome back more panel members so heed the texts.
