Moydow Harpers Vs Grattan Og in Reserve 3 semi-final

Moydow Harpers missed the opportunity to qualify for the Reserve League 3 final when they came up short against Grattan Og on Sunday 8th June.

Playing against a stiff breeze in the first half the Harpers trailed by 2 points at the break. The half-time score may have been a different story if Moydow were more clinical in front of goal, with a number of shots falling short into the goalie’s hand. In general play, Moydow played some good football in the first half with some excellent performances particularly from Niall Keenan, Mark Quinn at midfield.

The Harpers were slow to start the second half and found themselves drift by a further 4 points to leave a real uphill battle for the last 20 mins. However, credit to their resolve, they hit back with a flurry of scores including a brilliant individual goal from Niall Keenan following good work from Mark Quinn in midfield.

At this stage, the minimum of margins was between the sides and a great comeback victory was on the cards. Unfortunately for the Harpers, luck went against them and some uncharacteristic errors were capitalised on by Grattans closed out the game with a number of well taken scores.
