Naas U21s Maintain Lead in JP Fanagan Pennant

November 7, 2018

Naas took control early on following a superb try scored by wing Ryan Casey but they subsequently struggled to maintain their momentum in the heavy conditions and allowed IT Carlow too much territory in the first quarter. In the second quarter however, Naas dominated both territory and possession and executed some excellent line breaks and backline attacks which Carlow struggled to contain. At the interval Naas had built up a significant 12 point lead following a further outstanding try by influential flanker, Bearaigh O’Halloran and brilliant conversion by Peter Osborne. A further decisive try for Naas scored by Sean McNamee early in the second period and again brilliantly converted by Peter Osborne gave IT Carlow too much to do and Naas pressed on to secure a bonus point win following an excellent fourth try scored by No.8, Cillian Dempsey in the 65th-minute.
