New Intermediate & Minor Mentors for 2016 announced

November 8, 2018

John McCormack is from Moorefield, one of the most successful GAA clubs in Co Kildare and has been involved with the Newbridge club as a player and team mentor all his life. He comes with an impressive CV having trained Moorefield Minors to win three Kildare Championships, trained their Senior "B" team to win their Championship and was a Selector with the Moorefield Senior team for a number of years. He also trained Stratford to a Wicklow Senior Championship Quarter-Final.John is not long finished playing and is very enthusiastic about taking over the Clonmore Intermediate team. He is committed to applying a modern and professional approach to the job and brings with him a stats man who will be a Selector this year.

The club would like to welcome John and his colleague to the club and we wish him and the Intermediate players every success in 2016.

Minors

Paul "Fisher" Byrne needs no introduction to Clonmore GAA people and his passion for the club in unquestionable. Having won Minor "A" Championships back in 1991 & 92, he was still playing Junior for the club in 2015, long after most of his 1991/92 team-mates had retired.

Paul is an astute reader of the game and is well respected by the players having led the Minors to win the "B" Championship in 2011 – the first Championship won by the club since 1994. He represented the club as a Selector with the Rathvilly Minor team that reached the county semi-final last year and his talent has been recognised by the County Board with his appointment as a Selector in Peter McConnon's County U-21 backroom team for 2016.

Paul is joined by Con Murphy, Shane Murphy and Ger "Heidi" Doyle – all passionate Clonmore men and we wish them and the Minor panel the best of luck for 2016.
