The Under 21 team suffered a heartbreaking defeat to St. Colums on Saturday last in the Championship Semi-Final. Having fought back bravely from four points down with ten minutes remaining, to go ahead by one point deep into injury time, they were caught with a late “soft” goal which on this occasion was rough justice of the hardest variety.

Defeat on a final scoreline of 4-5 to 0-15 was made all the more difficult by a second half sending off which was one of many strange refereeing decisions throughout the match. It was a cruel result for both players and mentors alike.

The Under 14 footballers played their second league game against Gabriel Rangers last Wednesday evening in Aughaville and ran out easy winners to record their second win. They make the long trip to Urhan this Thursday evening for round three.

The Under 12 footballers recorded their third win on the trot with victory over Glengarriff on Monday last in Aughaville on a final scoreline of 5-11 to 3-2. Next weekend they travel to Garnish to play the home side.

The Junior A Championship has been fixed for Saturday 25th April in Ballinacarriga versus St. James.
