The best of luck to the Offaly senior footballers and team management who play Tyrone in the first round of the qualifiers on Saturday at 3pm in O’Connor Park. On the panel for selection from the club are Shane Sullivan, Brian Darby, James McPadden, Alan McNamee, Mark Dunne, Niall McNamee and Paul McPadden.
Offaly senior hurlers were defeated by Waterford in the first round of the qualifiers on Saturday evening in O’Connor Park on a score line on 0-21 to 1-14. Offaly trailed by four points at the interval but with the aid of the breeze in the second half Offaly looked to have a great charge and when Offaly levelled the game in the fifteenth minute it seemed that victory could be attained but Waterford finished the stronger and fully deserved their victory and in the end when James McGarth blew the final whistle Waterford had won by four points.
