Olaf’s Senior Hurlers reach the semi-final of the championship

Olaf’s 2-10 Nh Mearnog 0-12
Oaf’s Hurlers had a great win over Nh Nearnog in the quarter final on the senior B championship in Portmarnock on Saturday evening. Olaf’s started the game at a great pace an d were well on top in the opening 15 minutes with super points from Declan Dwyer and a fantastic opportunist goal from Colin Kyne Delaney. Mearnog came back a bit before half time and Olaf’s only led by two points at the interval. In the second half Olaf’s again came out fighting and went well ahead with some great points and a wonderful goal scored by Donal Kinsella. The goal started with a lomg puck out from Michael O Connor and a super catch by Declan who hand passed to the on running Donal Kinsella and Donal running into the 21 yard line fired the ball the net. An Injury to O Dwyer seemed to effect the Olaf’s rythm and Mearnog came back at them strongly, but we ran out winners by four points in the end. The Olaf’s defence were well on top through out the game with Niall McCaffery and Eoin Kinsella dominating. Olaf’s now meet St Brigids in the semi fianl, keep a look out for the fixture.
