On behalf of our school community I would like to welcome you to the website of Coláiste Rís Secondary School. We are a Co-educational Catholic secondary school under the trusteeship of the Diocese of Armagh. Coláiste Rís is currently home to approximately 520 students and 40 teachers. Founded by the Irish Christian Brothers in 1869, the school has played a pivotal role in the education of the youth of Dundalk and its hinterland.
Our aim is to enable students to achieve their full potential in a positive and caring atmosphere. We provide a wide range of subjects at Junior, Transition and Senior Cycle levels. Coláiste Rís has a long tradition of academic distinction and our past pupils have excelled in their chosen careers. A unique feature of our school is the Irish Stream, which offers students the opportunity to study through the medium of Irish if they so desire. In addition, we provide a broad range of sporting and extra-curricular activities, which help to focus on the social and personal development of our students.
