Rathmore U14's

Our keeper Donagh McSweney kept us in the game in the first quarter with three good saves. Brian Moyinhan finished a breakaway goal after good work from Tom Kelliher and Tadhg Moore.

However there was a four goal blitz by Templenoe and the half time score saw the home team ahead 4-3 to 1-2. The second half was similar with stronger Templenoe players adding to their points tally.  The final result was Rathmore 4-17  Templenoe 2-6.

Round 2 was played on Wednesday 28th away to John Mitchels in Tralee.

This game was more competitive with lots of excitement from start to finish. Rathmore playing into a strong setting sun in the first half started well and got their first goal through Mark Reen. Mitchels were sharper and quicker for a period and scored their first goal around 15 minutes. Around the twentieth minute they were reduced to 14 players, but still finished strongly. The half time score was Rathmore 1-3 John Mithchels 1-7. As often happens the fourteen players from Tralee dominated the play and in the first ten minutes the scored three goals. At this point the sun was almost gone an also the hopes of the Rathmore players, however they pushed forward and all the play was at the Stacks end of the pitch for the remaining of the game.

Rathmore scored a goal through John Friel which brought the scores to within six points. The final score was Rathmore 3-10 to John Mitchels 4-13.
