Kentstown moved up to 2nd in the premier division with a convincing win at home to kingscourt on saturday.
The home team found themselves 1 nil down in the opening exchanges but levelled the game with a neat finish by adam mccabe,it was end to end then chances for both sides kentstown keeper luke o malley made a couple of smart saves to keep the game level.
As the half grew on kentstown started to up the pace and a bit of magic from marc horrigan on the right side gave him space to whip a delightful ball front post and ryan lynch was on hand to bury the ball past the kingscourt goaly with a fantastic header,the home side looked hungrier for more goals and by half time they were 3 1 with another fine ball from marc horrigan who was having the time of his life on the right side were adam mccabe was there again to give kentstown the 2 goal cushion at the interval. after the break kingscourt got a second which brought kentstown too life.conor grogan and dylan doyle were winning the battle in centre midfield spraying balls out to the impressive marc horrigan ,at the back the 2 finnegan brotheres eoin and cathal where outstanding keeping the away team out jordan ogunyemi came on and scored a cracking goal to kill the game off , alan wall kentstowns centre half was having a richard dunne performance winning balls in the air busting out off defence with ball and creating oppurtunitys for d strikers.as the game was dying out kentstown ran away with it with further goals from adam mccabe(2) marc horrigan.it was a great team performance against a good kingscourt side but the home teams class proved too much for the visitors who now move into second 2 points off top with 3 games left.
