Rhode Senior footballers play Tullamore in the first round of the Offaly Senior Championship on Saturday in Rhode at 4.45pm. It is certainly a historic occasion with Rhode playing their first ever senior football championship game at Fr. Dowling Park. The club would like to thank the Tullamore club chairman Fergal McKeown and team manager John Rouse for their operation for this fixture. It is also ironic that both clubs are celebrating their 125th year since their foundation this year.
Best of luck to the Offaly Ladies who play Roscommon in the Division 4 League Final on Saturday in the Gaelic Grounds in Limerick at 5pm. On the team and panel from Rhode are Orlagh Heavey, Emma Dalton, Hannah McMahon, Niamh Malone and Amy Kerrigan. This game is also live on TG4 at 5pm.
The club wishes all the best and hopes for good weather for the Gathering on at the weekend which has seen great work done by their committee. It also see's the start of the Rhode GAA 125th celebrations.
