A great first half saw Sarsfields lead 1-10 to 0-03 and to most it was game over. However Cruppen didn’t give up and outscored the Highmoss 3-05 to 0-02 in the second half. Perhaps the match turned in a moment when the Cruppen keeper denied Chris McGaughey at a time when the visitors were three behind. Cruppen went straight up the field and levelled the match. Had Sarsfields got the goal and went six in front it surely would have been game over. The lesson from this match was that a match is never won at half time.
