Under 12s lose to Fenagh: Our under 12s were beaten by Drumreilly in the under 12 League final on Friday last. Hopes were high of victory after O’Heslins had beaten Drumreilly in the ordinary round of the league. However we were without star forward, Luke Murphy, who was abroad on holidays on this occasion. Given the display by Drumreilly it is doubtful if the result would have been any different, even if everyone was available. In the first half it was quite close and the halftime score was Drumreilly 0-4 O’Heslins 0-2. Niall McGovern from play and Patrick Connaughton from a free were our scorers. The second half was all Drumreilly and we failed to score in the twenty minutes. It finished 1-9 to 0-2. Well done to team mentors: Padraig Leyden, Patsy Connaughton and Peter Reynolds on guiding the team to the final and congratulations to the team on the excellent performances throughout the league. Now for the Championship.

O Heslin Ladies Lose in Charlestown:The O’ Heslin ladies played their second round of the Connacht League and were up against a very strong Galway side. The girls kept up with Clonbur for most of the first half and made things difficult for them at times but Clonbur came out as easy winners.  The Sean O’Heslins Ladies walked away with a great experience and did very well to make it into the second round.  The girls done their County and most of all there Club proud.  We then had a big blow to the team when we lost Katie Duignan late into the second half as Katie had to be brought off to Sligo General Hospital where she is making a good recovery.  We wish Katie a speedy recovery and we hope to see her back on the playing field soon. Thanks to the people from the Clonbur team who helped look after Katie and to everyone else who helped out.
A big thank you to the people who made the journey down to Charlestown to support the Sean O’Heslins Ladies.

Money Missing: During last Sunday’s Junior league game in the Park between Aughavas and Seán O’Heslin’s, some money was taken from the clothes of some of our players. It is very regrettable that this should happen and we would like to express our regret to the players involved. Any information in relation to this incident should be given to club Cathaoirleach Adrian Smith as the Gardaí are investigating.
