Scór 2013 - Jessica representing Carlow at Leinster Scór

November 8, 2018

A small but high quality Clonmore team did very well at the newly revived Scór finals in Myshall on Saturday 23 February, coming home with one First, one Joint First and one Second place.

Jessica Adamson beat off strong opposition to win the Solo Singing with a beautiful rendition of Paul Brady's song 'The Island'. Joe Hickey gave a very polished performance in the Recitation and was unlucky to only come 2nd. The Quiz team of Jim Shannon, Des Byrne and Ger Doyle put in a great effort to come Joint First, but lost out to Old Leighlin after a couple of tie-break questions. The one that caught them out was the first name of President Higgins wife - they won't forget 'Sabina' in a hurry !

Well done to all the competitors and supporters who travelled on a bad night weatherwise.

Jessica took part in the Leinster semi-finals of Scór in Clonaslee, Co Laois, on Sunday 10 March. Jessica sang really well with a new song called 'John Condon' but the judges selected two 'sean nós' singers from Laois and Dublin and unfortunately Jessica didn't make it through to the Leinster final. Well done to Jessica and better luck next year.
